What would John Cena’s final year in WWE be without one last big match against his longtime rival, Randy Orton?
Just one day after Cena shocked the world by beating Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41 to win his record-breaking 17th World Title, Randy Orton attacked him with an RKO.
On SmackDown, Orton has officially challenged Cena to a match at Backlash which will take place in Orton’s hometown of St. Louis.
Cena and Orton have a long history. They’ve faced each other 21 times in all kinds of matches—Hell in a Cell, TLC, “I Quit,” and more. Out of those 21 matches, Cena has won 13, Orton has won 7, and they had one no contest. Cena has also won their last four matches with the most recent one happening in 2017 on SmackDown.
Now that Cena has broken Ric Flair’s record with 17 World Titles, Orton isn’t far behind with 14 titles of his own. Together, they’ve won 31 World Titles making this possibly the most decorated singles match ever.
Who will come out on top and be the Undisputed Champion when these two legends face off, possibly for the last time?
Don’t miss Backlash, streaming live on Peacock in the U.S. and on Netflix worldwide, from St. Louis at 7 ET / 4 PT.
